I’m sure somewhere back on the east coast, somewhere in America, I can imagine leaves are changing colors, as a sign that severe cold weather is surely on its way. Pumpkins, apples and all the likes of the fruits and vegetables needed for the upcoming Holiday season are making their appearances in store fronts. Currently, where I reside, fallen temperatures are that of 78 degrees. As I make my rounds, I’ve noticed that certain fruits and vegetables are harder to come by because it’s not “in season” anymore. Due to its scarcity, what I would’ve easily paid 5 bucks for, I’d be lucky to find, for double the price, a DECENT and unrotten cluster. Picture it. Same time of year. Two completely different environments. Why? Timing.

Different plants need different environments despite the same timing, in order to flourish. Period. Apple trees. Palm trees. Cactus plants. I don’t care if you’ve invested a million dollars in a grape vineyard you want to grow in the middle of the Sahara. It ain’t gonna work Hunny! It all starts from a tiny seed and goes through the dying process. Some may need an environment where there is a need for moisture, calling for more rain. Another, a dryer type of condition. And for another, a colder condition. As believers, we will ALL go through a dying process. God has designed a unique path for each of us. For some of us, it’s gonna rain more. Difficult situations upon different situations. For another, that dry environment might mean: You’re going through a rough patch, with no comfort from anywhere. Everyone’s telling you to toughen up and get over it. Don’t compare your journey to others! Please don’t. Instead, ask the Father “What kind of seed I’m I??”. If you lack this understanding, you will end up resenting the dying process because it doesn’t “look” like someone else’s. There are countless times in my life where I was binding the devil, fasting, praying and posting scriptures to my headboard, only to find out “It was God all along”. It’s like Jacob, yet to be Israel, sleeping on a rock as pillow (talk about hardtimes) and when he awoke from his sleep & realized:

“Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” (Genesis 28:16)

No matter what your going through or HAVE gone through (need to address that as well because your past can have devastating effect on you if you don’t deal with it), God’s hand is in this process!! Your seed can HANDLE IT! And because theee is not another kind like you, you are RARE, therefore your value is increased. Before you even realize you can or could. God knew.
Be encouraged, T.

Caught between a Rock & a Hard Place

Like I was saying on instagram (lol):

Offense is a tricky thing because it sucks people into battles that have nothing to do with them. Let me bring it on home a little bit! This can’t be confessions of a Christian girl without a confession! Come on now! I found myself in a situation where I was at odds with someone. We had a mutual person who loved us both & I believe till date, equally fair. Not one time did this person in my presence speak ill of the other person involved. Not once. I was impressed! They didn’t sit on the fence, talk nasty things, then run back and do the same with the person I was at odds with. That takes character. I truly respect this person. And aspire to do the same when caught in the middle.

There’s a way to stand for people, love them, have their back without being disrespectful towards another especially if that person hasn’t done anything wrong to you per say. “I’m not disrespectful, Tasha! I haven’t done anything wrong to the person! But you don’t know what they did!”  Here’s a checklist. Let’s check your heart shall we?

  1. Every time the persons name is mentioned you have something slick to say
  2. You never speak TO them but always about them
  3. Not once have you taken the opportunity to ask God what He thinks about the matter
  4. Could there be a piece of the story you may be missing? Does your friend and or loved one have this issue REPEATEDLY with no real solution each episode?

I can’t say that I’ve always followed this model but I can say, I’m getting a little wiser.

Word of caution: When you step into a old battle & take sides without doing some homework, God is not obligated to protect you in your ingorance.

You gonna learn today!  You may siding with someone who is wrong. Even if you love them!

Let’s look at some scripture: 1 Samuel 25. Abigail…I don’t know how she did it. But I’m taking notes. Her husband was LOUD & WRONG. She knew it! David could’ve wiped Nabal’s name off the face of earth & wouldn’t have been in the wrong. She didn’t catch an attitude with David. She didn’t go home & ask her husband if he was an idiot. She found away to to bring peace (we know how the story ends lol).

Listen, I’ve been on BOTH sides of an issue. I’ve sided with someone in an offense and got railroaded. I’ve also been offended & could not see how the other person could be right. I’m your sister, I love you & gotta tell you the truth. Look at my scars, I’ve learned the hard way lol. You don’t have to. Choose peace & to be peaceable.

Short, sweet & straight to the point, Tasha ✌🏽

This video is too good to not share. Forgiveness is always a hard topic for me. I’m a lover of justice. I demand retribution! NOW! LOL. Let me stop. *smirk*. But when you got an Amazing-always-forgiving-keeping-you-under-the-blood-remember-what-I-did-for-you-last-week-type of God like mine?! It’s hard to ignore when He brings certain people, events or circumstances to mind, nudging my at-times calious heart to release those who:

  1.  Not even sorry or care to be sorry
  2. Refusing responsibility for their actions
  3. My personal favorite: pretend your a bad person to make themselves feel better.

But whatever the reason, whatever the case, this video is yet another reminder to take a stroll to my heart department & KEEP forgiving. Why be in hell on earth & risk eternal damination for another red-blooded human, who came from dust & shall return to dust? *that was shady, wasn’t it lol* It’s HARD. I KNOW!!! TRUST ME! I. KNOW. But everyday, release it. Ask God to help you. He’s helped me & is STILL helping me. I still want to go mental & go Love and Hiphop on folk daily. But do what I do, in your prayer time, go as far as to say “I release *insert name here*”. To truly forgive is to, give up your expectation for remorse or an “I’m sorry”. Jesus, yet while on the cross said in Luke 23:34-35

“Father, forgive them; they don’t know what they’re doing”

Let me tell you something: there is a certain level of shame & regret that comes over someone when they’ve treated you HORRIBLY & perhaps didn’t realize at the time but came to back to their normal state of mind to now see what they’ve done. It’s a sad, sad day. That is between them & God. The end of Judas was suicide (Matthew 27:3-5). Forgive. People have many reasons to do what they do. There might be a whole storyline you’re missing. I never thought in a MILLION years I would say something like this (I’m sounding REAL grown right now lol). Unforgiveness will create distance between you & God. Unforgiveness will make your edges fall out. Unforgiveness will release the spirit of torment in your life. Release yourself. Please

“Desert Song”

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me, Lord, through the flame

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

And this is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll stand

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I’m filled to be emptied again
The seed I’ve received I will sow
Hillsong needs to go ahead and make me a band member already. I’ll play the flute or something. I’m ALL for selfless worship. Hard times, good times & ugly Times, will all come and go but your worship should remain. God is not shaken by your circumstance, He allows it. XOXO

Hola! Finally posting my first video of 2015 (SMH) it’s terrible I know! Confessional moment: This has been sitting on my computer since January 1st. However, it’s the first day of April, it’s a new season, a new day. I did this video around the song because so often, as Christians can get comfortable in our walk with Christ. I don’t about you but I don’t want “shades of gray” in my life. Every time I sin, it’s like nailing my Saviour to the Cross again. Everyday is a new opportunity to make an effort to pleasing God, advancing the Kingdom and the continuing to speak the truth. He’s faithful and I want God to say the same thing about me, “My daughter’s been faithful”. Anyway, if you enjoy, then subscribe!

Song: Jonathan Reynolds “No Gray”

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord

This scripture has been burning in my heart all day. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations were we question  “Does God see this?  Does He not see what’s going on? How? Why? What? Huh? Stop playing! Come ON Life!”. But I’m so glad that God let’s me think that someone over 2,000 years wrote this just for me. The way I understand this scripture is that God doesn’t want ANYthing that He created to separate us from His Love…especially because it has the potential to. That’s the real honest truth folks. The thorns and thistles of life can separate you from the Love of Christ. Remember that sister in church that was on fire for God? Attended every service, answered every altar call, worked in every ministry possible? Then suddenly, one day, she quit coming. Separation. Remember that brother that made every Facebook status about Jesus, attended every worship conference in town, read his bible as his life depended on it? Then suddenly, one day, He’s back at that Hookah bar. Separation.

Take a moment to reflect. What are the things that could separate you from the Love of God? It’s a very wicked scheme and plan of the enemy but it’s an effective one. Once you’ve targeted those areas, begin to pray. Prayer is the only tool I’ve come to find will keep you stable. Stay blessed XOXO

Confessions of a Christian girl: Lost and found by Sarah Jakes (Review)

When my roommate saw me reading this book, I was immediately asked what could I possibly learn from a girl who had no real problems….😒 I didn’t bother to look up because I was already 4 chapters deep & they had no Godly idea what they’re talking about….
It’s New Year’s eve service:
The praise & worship is going on, I’m listening to the “You made it through message” I’m hearing shouting, declarations & decrees about how great this upcoming year is going to be. People are dancing out of their suits and I couldn’t help but think to myself “We said that last year”. #Boop So much happened in the unspoken year of 2014 I didn’t want to allow myself to feel any form of expectation for fear of disappointment…again. Sometimes you’re just tapped out beyond explanation.

After spending all night reading this book,(it’s roughly about 5:30am) & I can’t help but to be in deep thought over the words my eyes just laid hold of…It couldn’t better timing. I started “Lost & Found” on the 1st & it’s amazing because the underlying tone throughout the entire book is simple “His Grace is sufficient enough”. This book for the church girl at heart. It’s hard to communicate the constant battle between not able to fit into the world but not being able to fit into church.

The book is so full & will leave you full. Well done @sarahdjakes
